MSDH reports 16 more patients die of COVID-19 complications

Health officials in Mississippi report 263 new cases of COVID-19 in the state and 16 new deaths. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 11,967 -- with 570 deaths, the Mississippi State Department of Health said.

The MSDH added 44 of the newest cases reported ere among residents in long-term care facilities. There are now 87 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities -- where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff, health officials said.
