Actor Tony Dow dies
Tony Dow died Wednesday morning at the age of 77. The actor, best known for playing the older brother on the classic sitcom "Leave it to Beaver", announced earlier this year he was diagnosed with cancer. Dow also played Wally Cleaver in a 1983 made-for-TV reunion movie -- and "The New Leave it to Beaver" which followed.
"Although this is a very sad day, I have comfort and peace that he is in a better place. He was the best Dad anyone could ask for. He was my coach, my mentor, my voice of reason, my best friend, my best man in my wedding, and my hero," son Christopher Dow said in a statement.
Ten of Dow's best episodes from "Leave it to Beaver" will air Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on MeTV on myTV23 (WHPM 23.3 / Comcast 218).
