HPSD Foundation announces virtual induction for 2021 Hall of Fame

September 2, 2021 (Hattiesburg, Miss) – Amid growing numbers of Covid-19 cases throughout the Pine Belt, the Hattiesburg Public School District Foundation Board of Directors has decided to transition the 2021 Hattiesburg Hall of Fame from a live event to a virtual presentation. Twelve distinguished alumni of Hattiesburg’s city schools will be inducted into the HPSD Foundation Hall of Fame October 7 at 7 p.m. via a virtual presentation streamed live from the organization’s website <HPSDFoundation.org>.

“We would not under any circumstance want to host an event that would compromise the safety of The Class of 2021 or our community patrons. The Hall of Fame Committee believes that we are making the only responsible decision possible in transitioning to plans that will honor our distinguished alumni virtually,” said Michael Marks, Chair of the Hattiesburg Hall of Fame.
