Jones Co., other authorities search for possible second murder victim

The Jones County Sheriff's Department, which photographed these images seen in this story, and three other organizations spent much of Thursday at the Leaf River, at the Hwy. 590 bridge, to follow up on tips about a possible murder second victim.

The sheriff's department tells FOX23 the possible second victim was reportedly murdered and dropped into the Leaf River at around the same time as Brittany Nicole Holifield.

Authorities add this information is unconfirmed. Callers who have reported this have not been able to provide a name, the sheriff's department added.

The sheriff's department; the Jones County Search and Recovery Dive Team; the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks; and the Jones County Emergency Management Agency conducted underwater scuba diving operations as well as surface water searches, and bank searches.

On Wednesday, Marty Breazeale made his first court appearance in the case -- and was formally charged with first-degree murder in Holifield's death. A judge denied Breazeale bond.
