Schools dismissing early ahead of severe weather

* CITY SCHOOLS

\ Hattiesburg: All schools dismissing half an hour earlier than normal.

\ Laurel: Oak Park and Mason dismissing at 11:45 a.m., Laurel Upper and Laurel Magnet dismissing at noon, Laurel Middle at 12:30 and Laurel High and 1:15.

\ Columbia: Dismissing at 1:45 p.m.

\ Petal: Elementary schools (PreK-6) will release today at 1 p.m. and secondary schools (7-12) at 2:30 p.m. All extra-curricular activities -- including clubs, tryouts, and any other events -- are canceled for today.

\ Richton: Dismissing at 1:30 p.m.

* COUNTY SCHOOLS

\ Covington County: Dismissing at noon

\ Forrest County: 10th, 11th and 12th grades are dismissing at 2:45 p.m.

\ Jones County: Dismissing at 1:30 p.m.

\ Lamar County: Oak Grove Elementary will release at 12:30 p.m., Oak Grove High and Middle at 2 p.m. Sumrall, Purvis, Baxterville, and Lumberton will release at 1:30 p.m.

\ Marion County School District: Dismissing at 1:30 p.m.

\ Perry County: Dismissing at 1:30 p.m.
