Shelters, safe rooms open in anticipation of severe weather

With severe weather in today's forecast, the following shelters are, or will, open.

\ Forrest County: The 361 Safe Room Shelter, located at 946 Sullivan Drive just south of Hattiesburg city limits, opens at noon on March 17.

\ Jones County: The FEMA 361 Safe Room at 1425 Ellisville Blvd. in Laurel opens at noon on March 17.

\ Lamar County: The safe room at 105 Central Industrial Row in Purvis will open at 11 a.m. on March 17.

COVID-19 protocols -- including the need to wear face masks, taking temperature checks, and social distancing -- will be in place.
