Local organization gives back to the community

Hattiesburg, MS - Junor Auxiliary of Hattiesburg awarded The Institute for Diverse Education (TIDE) $9,300.00 dollars.

Tide is a new institution that employs progressive techniques and a nurturing educational atmosphere for gifted and remedial students in the Hattiesburg area.

Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg's mission is to continue the tradition of volunteer community service in meeting the needs of the underprivileged.

Executive Director of TIDE, Christe Brady says, "It's really exciting to be on a child's journey that way and to know that we are planting seeds that are going to actually make life a lot better for them."

Ginny Graham representative of Junior Auxiliary mentions, "It is such a rewarding experience to be able to give back to the community. I was born and raised here in Hattiesburg and I feel a great sense of pride to be able to give back to my community."

The donation will go towards one student to pay for their tuition.
