"Fill-A-Truck" Food Drive

Laurel, MS - Folks from the Good Samaritan Center are teaming up with the Laurel Police Department to collect food for this area's needy.

The food drive brought in many supporters from the laurel community, including Mayor Magee.

The good Samaritans tell us how the food drive is going so far.

Good Samaritans Executive Director, Kathy Clem said, "We probably should've gotten a huge, huge, huge truck. You talk to the police chief and he says we're going to do it from 10-5 and he's here at nine. And he's already half-filled the truck by the time I get here at ten. I think it's going to be tremendously successful. We're going to get a ton of food and we're going to be able to help a lot of people and we're really excited about it."

Mayor Magee said, “It shows the generosity of the people of Laurel and Jones County and it's going to a good cause because the Good Samaritans center feeds people and their there for them."

The food drive continues in the same spot tomorrow from 10-5.
