"Let's SAAC Hunger" Food Drive

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Tomorrow is the start of the annual Conference USA "Lett's SAAC Hunger” Food Drive.

The food drive is ran by the individual Conference USA schools student-athlete advisory committee. Each school works within its respective community to conduct a campus-wide canned food drive for at least one week during the fall semester

USM student, Christopher Monroe said, "November 12-22, we have a competition between all Conference USA schools called 'Let's SAAC Hunger' and the objective is to see which Conference USA school can raise the most or bring in the most canned food goods. It would just show that we do care about our community and we are active and we do want to help. So every year after we collect all the goods, we're partners with Christian Services, so they go to a lot of the local places around here for people who are hungry and homeless and we try to help provide food for them."

Canned items will be accepted on weekdays from 8-5p.m.

USM fans that provide five canned items at tomorrow's volleyball game, Friday's women's basketball game, and the men's basketball game on November 17th will receive free admission for that particular home game.
