HATTIESBURG, Miss - After fives years with the Hattiesburg School District, Superintendent James Bacchus anounced his resignation in a letter to the School Board President Marcus Cathey.

Bacchus ascribed his leaving to an unforseen deficit in the school finances.

He mentions that procedures were not executed in a way that would have allowed him to address financial issues.

His last day will be December 18th, 2015.
