Federal government gives previous workers 5.5 million dollars
BILOXI, Miss - The Federal Government paid close to 5.5 million dollars to people who have suffered illnesses tied to their work decades ago at the Salmon Nuclear explosion site.
According to the U.S. Department of labor, workers exposed to radiation and other toxic substances at the site from 1964 throuch 1972 filed medical claims.
The Federal Government exploded two underground nuclear bombs at the Mississippi test site.
Fiver years ago the Federal Government declared the site safe.
