Narcotics team arrests Forrest County man

FORREST COUNTY, Miss - The 12th circuit narcotics unit arrested Nashid Abdur Rahim for the intent of selling drugs Thursday evening.

The unit received information from neighbors of suspicious activity around the house. The narcotics looked into the investigation and found enough evidence for a search warrant to arrest Rahim.

Forrest County Investigator, Nick Calico says, "The resident of the house there was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, he was also charged with possession of firearm after a felony conviction, and also the warrant for the conspiracy to sell a controlled substance, which was heroin."

The 12th circut court narcotics enforcement team consists of the Hattiesburg and Petal Police Departments as well as the Forrest and Perry County Sheriff Departments. The unit all work together to keep drugs off the streets.

"Well when we get the complaints we do surveillance, and we are just trying to be proactive as once we get the complaints. We saturate the area, set up surveillance, and try to catch the folks either buying or selling, and arrest as many as we can."

Rahim is booked in the Forrest County jail and is waiting for his initial appearance.
