Hopson officially announced as head coach at the USM campus

Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Golden Eagles officially announced Jay Hopson as their new football coach Monday at the Hattiesburg campus.

Head coach, Jay Hopson said, “Just blessed to be here and my promise to you is that I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure we're consisted winners, year-in and year-out. I tell my football teams this in football as in life, adversity strikes. How we handle that adversity determines who we are as a football player and as a person. With no further due, Southern Miss to the top!"

The Vicksburg native used to be an assistant coach twice under Jeff Bower. Hopson had a lot of success at Alcorn State and is planning to continue winning games at Southern Miss.
