Three-year tornado anniversary
Hattiesburg, Miss. - On this day three years ago, Hattiesburg received a devastating EF4 tornado.
The tornado reached 170 mph winds.
82 people were injured and the tornado caused around $38.5 million dollars of damages.
The tornado destroyed many structures, including the University of Southern Miss, and Hattiesburg High School.
President Barack Obama declared Mississippi a federal disaster area and a state of emergency was issued by governor, Phil Bryant.
