Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Hattiesburg Police Department conducted a swearing-in Monday at City Hall.
Hattiesburg Police Officer, Kyle Stuart said, "It means a lot. I get to help my fellow officers and get a chance to do what I know best and that's to protect the City of Hattiesburg and just help my community out. Just a new police chief. That's the only thing to me that's different. I still know a lot of people here and I got a chance to sit down with Chief Parker a couple of weeks ago and me and him had a good conversation and he hired me back and I'm grateful for it."
Stuart worked for the Hattiesburg Police Department from 2004-2013.
Stuart then accepted a job offshore before coming back to Hattiesburg and being the 96th officer for the department.
