One lucky Jones County family may be getting a new home

Hattiesburg, Miss. - Hattiesburg Habitat for Humanity and Leadership Jones County have teamed up to help extend some of Hattiesburg Habitat's services to Jones county.

Leadership Jones County is trying to raise enough money for Hattiesburg Habitat for Humanity to help fund a project that will help a Jones County family get a new home.

Laura Goodwin-Wright, Hattiesburg Habitat for Humanity Finance & Communication Manager said, "We get request all the time from Jones County. We'd love to be able to provide safe and affordable housing to those families. But we have to have significant financial partnerships in Jones County to be able to do that. All of our bills are based on donations. Habitat is so grateful for all of our super volunteers. We have an amazing volunteer database. We always have people interested in coming out swinging a hammer, laying some sod. But in order to buy the materials for that to happen, we have to have the financial backing."

The financial goal is to raise $80,000 to build a four bedroom, two bath home for this family.

If you would like to participate in this project, you can contact Hattiesburg Habitat for Humanity at 601-582-4663.
