Man found deceased in Hub city home
HATTIESBURG, Miss - The Hattiesburg Police Department is investigating the death of Guy Sharpe, 39, of Hattiesburg.
Sharpe was found deceased in his home on the 100 block of South 23rd Avenue Wednesday morning by his neighbor, 15, Madelyn Barnett.
Barnett mentioned on Monday Sharpe was lying on the ground needing assistance to get onto the couch.
"He told me he was thirsty, so I gave him some water, and he told me he was fine and not to tell anyone this is between us" Barnett said.
She routinely checked-in on Sharpe, she mentioned on Tuesday he was moving around on the couch.
"The next day I checked on him, he was not moving, I just thought he was asleep and then yesterday I saw him and he was in the same position he was in the day before, so I ran and got the key again, opened the door and I tapped him from the back and fell in my arm and he was cold" added Barnett.
Lieutenant Jon Traxler of HPD mentioned they do not suspect foul play at this time.
Forrest County Coroner, Lisa Klem, said that toxicology reports are still pending.
