Recent auto thefts

Hattiesburg, Miss. - There has been a slew of car thefts recently in the Hattiesburg area.

But majority of the cars that were burglarized were locked.

Hattiesburg Police Officer, Lt. Jon Traxler said, "We've noticed that there's more busting of the windows. In the past, we had a lot of vehicles left unlocked. Now people have started to understand that they need to lock their doors. The thieves have just changed to a different technique, breaking windows from everything from using some type of hand device or throwing rocks through windows. But the big thing is we're out there we're trying to locate these people. In fact, we made an arrest of six people."
