SCAR's inaugural "Brews for Bullies" fundraiser
LAUREL, Miss. - SCAR had its inaugural "Brews for Bullies" fundraiser on Sunday.
Slowboat Brewery Company and SCAR teamed up together to put on the event, which included live music, beer, food, and adorable pets to pet.
SCAR president, Heather Williams said, "Whenever we have a community event like this, it's so cool to see the big turnout. It just makes us feels good. The community has always been there to support us. They're out and the first thing they tell us when they come in, it may be hot, but they're ready to support SCAR."
"We've got several litters of adorable puppies that we're letting folks look at and pre-adopt. We've got several adult bullies that are available for adoption. Throughout the day, we'll probably have four or five adoptable bullies and they're all fully vetted, said Williams."
SCAR has one pending adoption and has raised enough money to pay off its vet bills.
