Recent USM grad is performing in NYC

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Recent college graduates usually are always hoping to get their first big break in their desired field of interest.

One recent Southern Miss grad is about to embark on her new journey in her field of interest.

Aliesha Phillips received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Education and her musical talent is taking her to New York City.

Phillips is one of a select few to be chosen to participate in the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival. The festival is an intense summer institute that has concerts, career building workshops, ensemble instruction, and masterclasses.

Phillips received a full scholarship to attend this summer festival and she is hoping to take advantage of this opportunity.

The festival begins on June 21 and is a ten-day program.
