Local wife and husband arrested, domestic violence

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hattiesburg Police responded to a domestic disturbance Monday in the 300 Block of Geneva Street, and both the husband and wife were arrested.

Hattiesburg Police Officer, Lt. Jon Traxler said, “Donald Betts was charged with aggravated domestic violence and Patricia Betts was charged with simple domestic violence. And both of them were taken to the Forrest County Jail at that time. The injuries were not life-threatening, but Mrs. Betts did receive strangulation to her, so based on that, that constituted a felony."

Traxler said if you are in a domestic situation, the people involved should calm down, take a breather, and contact the police department.
