Lamar county woman dies in morning shooting

LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. - A 35-year-old woman is dead after being shot in the upper shot.

The victim has been identified as Beth Anne Marshall according to Forrest County coroner, Lisa Klem. Authorities were called to a residence in the 1400 block of Old Highway 41 about 9:30 a.m.

Lamar county Sheriff Danny Rigel said a hunting rifle was found at the residence.

Sheriff Rigel said a male who lived at the home was taken into custody for questioning, but not charges have been filed.

Marshall's body was sent to Jackson for an autopsy.
