SPAS offers shelter for displaced pets, needs donations
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Since the deadly E-F3 twister last Saturday morning Southern Pines Animal Shelter (SPAS) has given shelter to 50 pets. The shelter said they will continue to help tornado victims any way it can.
However, because of the natural disaster, they have taken more animals than it can house.
SPAS General Manager said donations are appreciated as they are welcoming the pets.
“Any donation of can dog food, bleach, blue Dawn dish soaps, towels, dog bowls, leashes, those are all very appreciated" said Sims.
She added, "We are also starting to go out to the tornado sites and give supplies for pets that may still be in those areas, dry dog food, houses, bowls, food, all appreciated until we get into those areas as we try to help those people and pets there.”
The organization is also taking monetary donations. You can stop by Southern Pines Animal Shelter during its normal business hours.
