FEMA offers mitigation assistance, flood insurance at Lowe's

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - FEMA has been going to local stores recently to help those who may be affected by the tornado.

For the last couple of days, FEMA workers have been at Lowe's to offer mitigation assistance and flood insurance to tornado victims.

Outreach specialist, Michael Sampson said, "We're providing free information. Our handouts are free. The emphasis is rebuild back using techniques that will reduce or even help eliminate damage in the future. And, it's hard to eliminate damage with a tornado or with flooding. But, there are things that can be done to reduce it.”

FEMA will be at Lowe's again Tuesday. On Wednesday, they will be at Home Depot.
