Hattiesburg Election Committee hopes for a 'smooth election'

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The city of Hattiesburg Election Committee met Friday to make sure this year's election runs smoothly.

Officials outlined what voters need to know prior to the primaries in May and General Election in June.

Representatives from both the local Democratic and Republican parties were also in attendance.

“We’re working with both the Democratic and both Republican party and the City Clerk office" said Kenny Harrell the committee's Chairman.

"I find that everyone is very positive we just gone through a tragedy with our tornadoes and such, and this community just comes together as one, and so this is just what we want with this election" added Harrell.
