Hundreds participate in JCJC Alumni Association Golf Tournament

LAUREL, Miss. - Around 120 people participated in the 18th annual JCJC Alumni Association Golf Tournament Friday at the Laurel Country Club to help create scholarship money for JCJC students who are in need.

Charlie Garretson, JCJC vice president of advancement said, "There's a number of tournaments that do take place in Laurel every year. And this same basic group plus a few others coming and going turn out every year to support JCJC. Many of them are alumni; but, many just support the college. So, we're truly grateful for that."

Golfers were in a four-man scramble and played 18-holes.

One former Bobcat golfer made sure to show up and to bring his A-game.

Golfer, Sawyer Taylor said, "They did a lot for me, helping me get through school and get my education. The Alumni Association gives out so many scholarships throughout the year. And just giving the opportunity for people to go to school is just awesome. The Masters gets everybody in golf mode. So, it's been fun and I hope we have a good time today and enjoy everybody in the fellowship."

Winners received many prizes, including a Ford Mustang.
