Jones County man arrested after hitting a person in the head with a baseball bat

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - A fight that happened on March 24 left one man in the hospital.

Jones County deputies said the victim was trying to break up a fight that involved his son and multiple suspects.

When the father intervened, he was knocked to the ground by Brandon Houston, 21, who was wearing steel-toed boots. Houston kicked the victim in the face and struck his head with a baseball bat.

The father was transported to the hospital and suffered an ocular fracture.

Houston is charged with aggravated assault.
