MEMA presents $250,000 grant to help tornado victims
FORREST COUNTY, Miss. - MEMA officials presented a $250,000 check to the Forrest County Board of Supervisors Tuesday that will go towards a long-term recovery effort from the EF-3 tornado that happened in January.
Deputy state coordinating officer, Todd DeMuth said, "Ultimately what the goal of this grant is to do is to get the citizen that is impacted or an affected citizen that is trying to get their home rebuilt, to get them back in their home. The whole purpose is to make the citizen whole again to a degree or close as possible as it was before."
