First annual Gospel event kicks off in Hattiesburg

Hattiesburg, Miss. - The very first annual Praise-in-the-park gospel event will kick off Saturday in Downtown Hattiesburg.

Frank Johnson commonly known as "DJ Bum Bum" will host a free community event July 8th at noon in Town Square Park. This public event will include live performances by church choirs, dance teams and other worship groups.

"The number one thing to do is bring the community back together...but we want to bring all of God's children and just everybody together and just pray for the whole city." Frank Johnson, Praise-in-the-park organizer, said.
