Hattiesburg celebrates National Night Out at Target

LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. - Local officials kick off another year celebration of National Night Out Tuesday in Hattiesburg.

Mayor Toby Barker, Hattiesburg Police and Fire Departments engaged with the community to promote partnership and camaraderie in effort to make Hattiesburg safer.

I want the citizens to know their government, to know their officials, to know the people that protect them on a daily basis, and I want them to feel really comfortable reaching out and letting them know when something is not right in their neighborhood." Mayor Toby Barker said.

Millions of neighborhoods across the country take part in this national campaign on the first Tuesday in August.
