Hattiesburg Inmate escapes court appearance downtown
Hattiesburg, Miss. - A "dangerous" inmate escaped a court appearance at Hattiesburg Municipal Court Monday.
Around 9:30am, Inmate Fate Santee walked out of a Hattiesburg Municipal Court room with shackles on his arms and legs. Santee proceeded to get inside a get-away-car with an accomplice.
Hattiesburg Police Department apprehended Santee and his accomplice, Diamond Kidd. "...we were able to apprehend him without incident, he is in custody at this time, we also have an acquaintance of his Miss. Diamond Kidd who is also in custody for the aiding of his apprehension.” said HPD Officer, Lt. LaTosha Meyers.
Santee could possibly face escape and felony eluding charges. Kidd could also face charges on assisting or aiding a felon.
This is an ongoing internal and criminal investigation.
