Southern Miss students looking forward to 2017 football season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The 2017 college football season will kick off Saturday between Southern Miss and Kentucky. The teams will battle it out on the gridiron at the M.M. Roberts Stadium.

However, before the beginning of every first USM football game, the school and community celebrates a day of Black and Gold. Students wear black and gold as Southern Miss pride.

One student said she looks forward to spending quality time with those she love.

“I’m so excited about the game, it’s the first one of the season, we’re all just going to be so excited having fun and tailgating and its going to be a great time to be with friends and family," said Caroline Wolfarth, freshman Southern Miss student.
