Fire Department Chief says hydrant tests will continue
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Fire Chief Paul Presley says fire hydrant tests will continue safely despite ward 5 pipe renovation project.
Hattiesburg Fire Chief Paul Presley says the $2.3 million water pipe renovation set for Palmer’s Crossing and Irene Chapel Area will provide good water pressure for fire hydrants in case of emergencies.
“We’ll always be there, even if they are working on the water lines in Ward 5. We are still going to do our jobs, and we are going to take care of those issues, but they have nothing to worry about if they have a fire over there.” said Presley.
He also stated that he is looking to see more hydrants receive yellow and green color paint – which represents good water flow for specific and residential areas.
