Dixie Attendance Center students dress as 100-year-old people to celebrate school year

DIXIE COMMUNITY, Miss. - Dozens of children were spotted with gray hair and walking canes at Dixie Attendance Center Wednesday.

Students had an opportunity to dress as 100-year-old people to celebrate to 100th day of school. Two elementary teachers said they have seen growth in academic and state test results.

“We wouldn’t be able to do it without the parents. The parent’s play a really big role in the growth that we see here. The parents work with their kids at home and we do appreciate all the work that they do with their kids because we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them,” said second grade teacher, Beth Ford.

This is a long standing tradition at Dixie Attendance Center.
