Hattiesburg Zoo offers Home School classes

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hattiesburg Zoo is adding another element to its highly popular education lineup. Starting in February, the Zoo’s Education Department will offer “Home School at the Zoo School,” a special program targeted at home-schooled children ages kindergarten through 6th grade.

The Zoo’s home-school series is curriculum-based and will include an educational adventure through animal encounters, crafts and games. Snacks will also be provided. [if !supportLineBreakNewLine] [endif] “The Hattiesburg Zoo is excited to offer a great series of activities with its home-school program that is both fun and educational for children. Our zoo team works together to create engaging and creative learning environments focusing on animals and nature. We’ve had tremendous success with our outreach programs, and we know this series will be a great opportunity to reach a unique group of students,” Jeremy Cumpton, education manager for the Hattiesburg Zoo, said.

The Home School at the Zoo School programs are from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of February, March, April and May. The cost is $15 per child.
