Duck Dynasty's Si Robertson host fundraiser for local children's home

LUMBERTON, Miss. - Homes of Hope celebrates their third annual Si Robertson Clay Shooting fundraiser Friday at the grand opening of the Pine Belt Gun Club.

"All the proceeds got to benefit Homes of Hope for children. We are a privately funded Christian Children’s Home located in Purvis Mississippi. We don’t receive any state or federal funds, in order to raise the money we need to take care of the kids God sends to us, we have to do fundraisers like this,” Executive Director of Homes of Hope, Dr. Michael Garrett explained.

A few years ago, Duck Dynasty’s Si Robertson heard about the mission for Homes of Hope. Later he learned that Garrett fights legal battles to win sole custody of abused or neglected children.

“It’s not the kids fault. They shouldn’t have to be left in that. That was mom and dad’s decision to do what they are doing. So don’t go and bring it on the kids back and shoulders,” said Si Robertson.

Robertson partnered with the Pine Belt gun club owner to host the fundraiser shoot during the business’ grand opening.

“Those children never had a chance to grow in a good home. Dr. Michael Garrett is doing a wonderful thing for these children to get them out of abused homes and giving them a chance to actually have a good life,” said Pine Belt Gun Club Owner, Omar El-Aazami.

Robertson, Garrett and the 60 Pine Belt sponsers look forward to using their platforms for years to come for future Homes of Hope fundraising.
