Charles Bolton terminated from Forrest County Sheriff's department


FORREST COUNTY, Miss. - Former Forrest county Chief Deputy Charles Bolton has been terminated from the Forrest County Sheriff's department.

According the County Administrator Betty Carlisle Bolton was let go from the department.

Bolton was found guilty last Thursday of five counts of filing tax returns and four counts of tax evasion between the years of 2010-2013.

The jury found Bolton not guilty on 1 count of tax evasion in his 2009 tax returns.

After the indictment in March 2016 Bolton remained in his position as Chief Deputy, but as a convicted felon in the state of Mississippi he can now longer serve the department.

His sentencing along with his wife Linda Bolton is set for December 19.
