Local Boy Scout earns highest ranking

COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. - One local Boy Scout has had quite the success over the years and now has the highest rank as an Eagle Scout.

He helped his community with various projects.

He built a wheelchair ramp at a local water park to help people who have disabilities maneuver around easily.

This teenager has earned many badges and plans to continue serving others in his future endeavors.

Boy Scout, Miles Guthrie said, "What I want to major in in college, that helps out a lot too, because scouting teaches you a lot about being out in the woods, and just knowing a lot about the outdoors. Hopefully I can keep this in my life, keep coming and helping with the younger ones. Seeing them would be great to get this accomplishment."

Guthrie said he wants to major in forestry and minor in film.

He also has a chance to earn $80,000 in scholarship money for college.
