Academy Sports gives Oak Grove Lower Elementary students 30 bikes

OAK GROVE, Miss. - Academy Sports gave 30 bikes to Oak Grove Lower Elementary (OGLE) students Thursday.

Each year Academy Sports gives give-a-way gifts to local schools. “It’s great, it is fantastic, all this crowd here, we’re looking forward to seeing 30 happy kids today leave out here with bikes" said Jim Lamb Academy Sports Director.

Thirty 2nd and 3rd graders received brand new bikes costing around $70 each. Teachers had to select students who were performing well across the board to be considered into a raffle.

OGLE Principal Matt Thomas said, “Attendance at school, academic performance, not necessarily high academic performance, but just giving your maximum effort, in the classroom, and not having to receive formal discipline at your school, being at your best behavior.”

This was OGLE's second year receiving give-a-way gifts from Academy Sports.
