LPD and Laurel Ford Dealership gives local kids 50 bikes for Christmas

LAUREL, Miss. - The Laurel Police Department (LPD) and several community organizations teamed up to make families around the Pine Belt happy this Christmas.

LPD, Laurel Ford Dealership, Walmart, and Laurel FOP raised around $10,000 to give children of low-income families 50 bikes and brand new toys.

Chief Tyrone Stewart said, "We came together to provide, over 50 bicycles to some kids that was less fortunate to have a Christmas and we made a Christmas this morning.”

“We are so excited to be able to help children who might not otherwise have a Christmas, it is the season of giving" said General Manager of Laurel Ford Urica Martin.

Martin continued, "These are the things that we look forward to and these are the things that excite us about this holiday season, and to see these kids running around all excited to see their toys it just makes us happy."

LPD said they hope to pass out bikes again next Christmas too.
