Petal School District responds to immediate threat, no injuries

PETAL, Miss. - The following is a press release from Petal School District.

A report of a possible threat by a student toward specific individuals occurred at Petal High School Friday morning.

Response by staff was immediate and the student was handled appropriately to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The Petal School District Police Department is leading the investigation of the incident and there has been no disruption in normal school activities.

We continue to encourage our students, parents and community members to communicate with us anytime they see or hear of a situation that could compromise the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
