NBHA State Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hundreds of people from across the state made their way into Hattiesburg for a competition at the Forrest County Multipurpose Center.

The Mississippi National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) is having its state championship through the weekend where riders have a chance to earn bragging rights.

NBHA state director, Betty Thompson said, "This is our state show and everyone is just really excited. We have a super large turnout. We have over 200 riders already pre-entered in the open. Over 100 youth riders, and about 50 senior riders, which are 50 years and older. And, so, we're just looking forward to it. We'll be here for three days. Friday, Saturday. And then Sunday, we'll have our finals. And, we have $10,000 added to our open."
