Car crash, 3 injured

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - A two vehicle accident Tuesday night left three people injured and both cars heavily damaged. Johnson Volunteer Fire Department, as well as a South Jones unit that was in the area responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Spur Line Road and Pecan Grove Road. Upon arrival, firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders found two heavily damaged vehicles - a red car with extensive damage to its front-end sitting to the side of the road and a gray car with extensive damage to its passenger side sitting several yards from the roadway in the front yard of a house.

According to reports, the male and female occupants of the red car sustained minor injuries and were transported by a personal vehicle to the hospital. The driver of the gray car sustained unknown injuries and was transported by EMServ ambulance to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

The accident briefly shutdown the intersection for vehicle recovery. The cause of the accident is unknown.
