Hayes Lake Dam concerns

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - The flooding that happened Tuesday morning caused concerns for one local dam.

Hayes Lake Dam is in danger of failing, which will cause flash flooding downstream. The lake has 18 feet of water, and if there is failure, at least 8-10 feet of water will inundate areas below the dam.

MDOT is monitoring the situation.
