Man dies from wounds after random shooting in Roper's parking lot

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - A 40 year old Petal Man, who shot up a parking lot at a popular Hattiesburg nightclub and held police at bay for nearly two hours has died of his wounds.

Hattiesburg Police say Bryan Wright was denied admission to Roper's Rockin Country nightclub early Saturday morning because he was acting belligerent.

He left, then returned firing randomly into the air. Witnesses say Wright fired between 20 to 40 rounds, some hitting parked cars. A couple of bullet holes were also seen on the outside facade of the building.

Two policemen were already on the scene and returned fire hitting Wright. Police say he barricaded himself in his truck for two hours before a swat team moved in.

He was captured and taken to a hospital, where he died of his wounds. No one else was hurt.
