Cafe La Fleur Fire In Laurel

A fire broke out on Magnolia Street in downtown Laurel Friday. A restaurant called Cafe La Fleur went up in flames, causing the entire street to be closed for a long period of time.

"We had a surge fire on Magnolia, Cafe La Fleur. It came in approximately twelve o' clock-pm," Laurel Fire Chief, Mark Nichols said. "It appeared to be on the second floor. We have contained now, it started in the attic area... now trying to determine exactly what it came from. Nobody got hurt... and right now we are just kind of in the over haul of clean-up operation."

Chief, Nichols also said there is not a timetable on the clean-up process.
