William Carey University Presents Reformation Program

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - Monday, William Carey held its Reformation Program. October 31, marked the 500th year of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. The program Monday educated the student body and others around the community about the importance of the Reformation.

"Our department wanted to host an event that celebrated the Reformation. The Protestant of the Reformation that took place was primarily centered around the personality of Martin Luther," William Carey University's, department chair of Christian Ministries, Brett Golson said. "Luther of course, was calling the church back to an authority of scripture rather than tradition. So, that's primarily the whole basis of the Reformation, in which we are products of today. It was a great conference. Dr. Holcomb with fifty years of teaching history was able to bring all of that history into about a three-hour session and summarize it. It was incredible."
