Westchester Apartment shooting sends one person to hospital

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - One person is in stable condition after a shooting in Westchester apartments Monday.

Hattiesburg Police received a phone call from a resident around 12:45pm in regards to shots fired at the location.

HPD Spokeswoman, Latosha Meyers, said one male suspect was struck with a bullet leading to one gun shot wound. He was then transported to Forrest General Hospital for surgery.

The victim is reported in stable condition. According to authorities, there is one person of special interest and no one in custody.
