Memorial Scholarship dedicated to late Dr. Clemon Terrell


HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Friends of the city of Hattiesburg announced the Dr. Clemon Terrell Memorial Scholarship Fund at City Hall Thursday afternoon.

The late former Director of Parks and Recreation was a longtime resident of the city, a football star for both Hattiesburg High and Southern Miss. The wife of Dr. Terrell, Rosalind Terrell, said she and her family are ready to continue his legacy.

“We have big shoes to fill and I’m constantly telling the kids ‘hey we know we got to make sure we take care and continue that legacy in dad’s name.’ It’s just a great honor because he did already do this little laying the bricks down so to speak. We’re just making sure we keep building for him,” said Terrell.

All donations are tax-deductible and are processed through the Greater PineBelt Community Foundation.

To contribute, checks should be made to the Greater PineBelt Community Foundation with "Clemon Terrell Fund" written in the memo.
