Funeral arrangements complete for Bud Kirkpatrick

Hattiesburg continues to mourn the passing of a pillar in our community.

In 1972, William E. "Bud" Kirkpatrick became Director of Public Relations at Southern Miss -- and was named Assistant to the President for University Relations in 1997. After retirement in 2002, Kirkpatrick remained active with the Public Relations Association of Mississippi, Sales and Marketing Professionals of the Pine Belt, the Hattiesburg Daylily Society and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Southern Miss.

Kirkpatrick died Friday at the age of 82.

Visitation will be held tonight, May 21, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Additional visitation will follow Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg -- followed by the funeral on Tuesday at 11 a.m., also at Parkway Heights UMC.
